On the 28th of April, Mayor Caroline Woodley and Cabinet Member for Employment, Human Resources and Equalities Carole Williams joined union representatives to mark International Workers’ Memorial Day, remembering those who have died or been injured whilst doing their jobs. Flowers were placed on the workers’ memorial bench in London Fields, commemorating Hackney’s public servants who lost their lives to Covid-19.

International Workers’ Memorial Day serves as a powerful reminder of the important role of unions in ensuring safe workplaces and protecting workers’ rights.
